This ID unit is equipped with the intelligence to recognize and store your fingerprints all on-board the device, so no one has access to your fingerprints except you, ensuring the utmost privacy.

At the same time, the flexible FIU-600 product also supports software packages that use centralized fingerprint matching and storage to allow for “hot seating” – an internally mobile workforce that isn’t tied to a single PC. In this mode, the FIU-600 unit can export high quality fingerprint images in an encrypted fashion that can be read by today’s latest third party matching algorithms.

The FIU-600 product offers robust fingerprint imaging technology based on a technique known as capacitance, which digitally reads the finger-print without leaving ink residue on your finger. Capacitance sensors cannot be fooled by paper copies and require no cleaning. When used in combination with fingerprint storage on-board smart cards, the FIU-600 unit is perfectly suited to support initiatives in homeland security, the medical industry, government, and many other applications.
